About The Position

We are looking for a high-impact DevOps Engineer to become the trusted technical "anchor" for our clients, moving beyond just managing tickets to becoming a respected advisor who ensures their infrastructure is never a blocker to their success. You won't just be maintaining pipelines; you will be the bridge between complex technical requirements and seamless delivery, taking full ownership of a major GitLab to GitHub migration and modernizing our critical infrastructure roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Cloud & Orchestration: Deep hands-on experience with Azure (specifically AKS) and a solid understanding of major cloud platforms.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proven expertise in Terraform and IaC with a focus on proper state management and business continuity, including having inherited, debugged and refactored someone else's Terraform state in production.
  • CI/CD Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of GitHub features, integrations, and build agent management for complex code compilation and deployment.
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Bash/shell scripting and at least one other language (Python/PowerShell) to drive efficiency.
  • Solid Experience: You have 5+ years of experience working on production infrastructure environments, and you have led at least one major platform migration or disaster recovery scenario.
  • Confidence & Grit: Proven experience being able to build strong, trusting relationships with clients where you can pushback, provide alternatives, and still maintain their confidence.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a consulting or high-pressure client-facing environment
  • Experience with Linux system/network administration and monitoring tools like ELK, Cloudwatch, or Application Insight.
  • A background in development (Next.js, React, or Mobile) to better bridge the gap between Dev and Ops.

Responsibilities

  • Migration Leadership: You will lead the migration of repositories and CI/CD pipelines from GitLab to GitHub, managing the transition end-to-end to ensure zero downtime and immediate developer productivity.
  • Service Excellence & Uptime: You will be responsible for maintaining the service quality of the organization, ensuring high availability and uptime for critical systems like AKS and Postgres through proactive monitoring and disaster recovery planning.
  • Operational Fluidity: You will audit our current build and release processes to eliminate blockers, automating environment setups via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure developers are never waiting on infrastructure to ship code.

Benefits

  • 100% Employer-Paid Premiums. We cover the full cost of your Health and Dental premiums (Long Term Disability premiums are employee-paid).
  • Comprehensive Health Benefits (Day 1). Full coverage starts immediately, including 100% Prescription Drug Coverage and Extended Healthcare, 80% Dental, Vision Care, Life Insurance, AD&D, and Critical Illness.

  • Flexible Wellness. A $1,200 annual Health/Wellness Spending Account (HSA/WSA) to support your specific needs.
  • Time Off. 3 weeks vacation (minimum), 5 paid sick days, and paid leave for bereavement and jury duty.
  • Financial Future. Competitive pay and a Group RRSP (GRSP) with 2.5% employer matching (1-year vesting schedule).
