About The Position

SimVentions is a 100% employee-owned business and has consistently been voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team! Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) environment using containerization technologies (e.g. Red Hat Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) and cloud environments (e.g. Amazon Web Services). This position requires full-time, onsite support at NSWC Dahlgren and could require occasional off-hours support (e.g. evenings).

Requirements

  • At least 3 years' experience supporting code deployments to a cloud environment
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
  • Must be proficient in Windows OS
  • Must have active Security+ certification
  • An ACTIVE Top Secret Clearance (with SCI eligibility) is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kubernetes (ELK) stacks
  • Advanced AWS certifications (e.g. DevOps Engineer Professional, Solutions Architect Professional)
  • Elasticsearch and Kibana certifications
  • Kubernetes Administrator certification
  • CompTIA CASP or CISSP certification
  • BS in STEM field preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily system checks
  • Support code deployments to Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
  • Perform CI/CD pipeline patching, upgrades, and vulnerability scans, including Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scans
  • Capture new processes and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Manage GitLab groups
  • Implement Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
