About The Position

Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI) is hiring a passionate DevOps Developer to join our team. This is an entry-level position located in our Jacksonville, FL office. ASI develops enterprise software used by physical asset managers to keep their equipment and fleets performing at their highest levels. Our customers include the Department of Defense, commercial fleet operators, and industrial facilities. We meet our customers challenges by developing state-of-the-art solutions that bring together the fields of computer science, operations research, data science, and reliability engineering using the latest industry technologies. ASI uses cutting edge .Net, Angular, and SQL technologies. The DevOps Developer will be familiar with development policies, procedures, and technical issues related to software development for customers. The ideal candidate must be able to adjust to constant business changes including new application requirements, evolving customer goals, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field
  • Working knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies
  • Working knowledge of software deployment and release management methodologies for medium to complex builds
  • Experience in PowerShell or other programming language
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must qualify for secret security clearance at any time

Nice To Haves

  • Experience any of the following Windows and Linux servers
  • Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare, etc.)
  • Build tools (Rake, Invoke-Build, etc.)
  • Automation tools (Jenkins, Puppet, etc.)
  • Docker
  • .NET or Java n-tier web applications
  • GIT and GIT flow
  • Traditional waterfall SDLC and Agile methods
  • Issue tracking tools such as Jira
  • MS SQL Server or Oracle DB

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices in information technology, development processes, software architecture, and software release management
  • Analyze software deployment requirements across multiple applications and modules
  • Build automated deployments using configuration management technology
  • Verify the functionality of components and services and ensure deployment meets client's expectations
  • Troubleshoot existing deployments to identify errors or deficiencies and develop solutions
