The intern will support studies related to the use of glass as a microelectronics packaging substrate, focusing on material mechanics and reliability issues. Work will support some S&T projects.

Requirements

  • PhD Candidate preferred.
  • Minimum requirement- B.SC candidate (rising senior)
  • Strong material mechanics understanding
  • Analytical and experimental understanding of thermo-mechanical issues
  • Good written and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Finite element analysis capability
  • Good presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work well within a team

Responsibilities

  • Experimental measurements to understand stress and strain behavior of multicomponent systems
  • Build fundamental understanding of material property from composition and process.
  • Document the results of the research by the end of the summer and give a final presentation.
  • Learn new techniques and methods as needed to support the project objectives.
  • Data analytics, carry out simulations, summarize, and communicate data.
  • Perform literature search and implement findings
