About The Position

This position will develop and implement fund-raising strategies and activities for institutional prospects at the highest levels to carry forward the mission and vision of Mayo Clinic. The Development Senior Director will represent Mayo in the global market place to qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward principal gifts prospects and align benefactor interests with the strategic objectives of the institution. The Development Senior Director will manage a portfolio of approximately 50 prospective principal benefactors and will partner with the Chair-Development, Department Chair and institutional leaders to develop and implement strategies for gifts of $5,000,000 and above. Development professionals at Mayo Clinic are required to adhere to the "Donor Bill of Rights" and ethical standards set forth for the department and the institution. The Development Senior Director will be a highly experienced development professional with demonstrated ability to build and nurture effective working relationships with institutional leaders, medical faculty, administration, staff and volunteers in coordinating donor cultivation and recognition. The position will keep abreast of clinical, research, education and administrative initiatives across Mayo Clinic; work collaboratively with department staff to ensure proper documentation, acknowledgment and recognition for principal giving; collaborate with Corporation and Foundation Relations colleagues to pursue institutional donors and with the Office of Gift Planned to encourage planned gifts; serve as an effective spokesperson and representative for Mayo Clinic and its strategic funding priorities; and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and support of the departmental mission, values and best fundraising practices.

Responsibilities
