About The Position

The Village Family Service Center is seeking a Development Officer- Grants & Major Gifts to advance our mission of strengthening individuals and families through accessible, community-based mental health services. In this role, you will build and steward meaningful relationships with major donors while managing a robust grants portfolio that sustains and grows our programs. You will represent The Village with professionalism and integrity, aligning donor and funder priorities with real community needs through thoughtful engagement, strategic fundraising, and compelling storytelling about the impact of our work. The Development Officer manages the full donor and grant lifecycle-from prospect research and cultivation to solicitation, proposal development, and reporting-working closely with the Director of Development, senior leadership, and program teams. Part of this role will also feature grant coordination, including the writing, researching, life cycles, and reporting. Overall, this position requires a detail-oriented, relationship-driven professional with 3-5 years of experience in development, fundraising, or grant writing, strong communication and writing skills, strong organizational skills, and a non-judgmental, inclusive approach. Occasional travel to regional sites is expected. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in development, fundraising, or grant writing
  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Must pass criminal background check
