About The Position

Connecticut Children’s seeks a fundraising professional with foundation and grant experience to join the Foundation team as a Development Officer – Foundation Relations. The Development Officer will coordinate and perform a variety of fundraising, administrative and operational support duties. Primary focus will be to undertake foundation and grant philanthropy for opportunities and provide overall operational support for the foundations and grants team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least at least 3 years relevant work experience preferred.
  • Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal; critical thinking skills; and data entry and analysis skills.
  • Must have computer literacy, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work without close supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce or other similar CRM experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general project support to the foundations and grants team with particular focus on foundation giving and other operational support.
  • In collaboration with other members of the Foundations and Grants team, will engage and solicit foundations for opportunities, processing the gifts and coordinating with appropriate offices to ensure the gifts are appropriately recognized and reporting is carried out
  • Assist with writing or processing correspondence, grant applications, acknowledgement letters, briefings, and donor reports.
  • Provide administrative support to the Foundations and Grants team, including managing the resources folder in the shared Foundation drive, application and report production to assist team members, and logistical support for gifts.
  • Manage twice a week prospecting for the Team by sending emails with vetted prospect opportunities, including all prospect opportunity details and parameters denoted.
  • Assist the major gift officers with administrative support as directed by supervisor.
  • May be asked to represent Connecticut Children's Foundation in the community (check presentations, events, meetings, Medical Center tours, etc.) -- adhering to Connecticut Children's standards of excellence.
  • Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leaders in the organization.
