About The Position

The Development Officer III identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising program for the university. Leads the efforts to build and promote the membership of the Women for Texas A&M University-Texarkana and the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Student Ambassador Group. The Development Officer III develops multi-faceted projects to strategically engage the Women for A&M-Texarkana. This position is also responsible for planning and coordinating various university events including Women for A&M events. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Identifies, cultivates, and solicits philanthropic support by developing and maintaining relationships with donors and prospective donors to solicit and secure funding to support university programs and scholarships. Supports fundraising strategies to ensure proper acknowledgement, recognition, and stewardship of donors. Works in collaboration with advancement team to prepare prospect research materials and prepares call reports. Participates in developing advancement materials and brochures. Organizes the Women for A&M including fundraising for special events, coordinating arrangements for meetings, recruiting new members, managing membership renewals and other responsibilities as needed. Responsible for developing and implementing university special events. Promote Student Ambassador program visibility through student engagement and leadership. Maintains call reports and university gift processing in the Blackbaud Database System. Enters personal and confidential donor giving information and confidential biographical records into the database. Designs and runs regular reports from database as a tracking mechanism for Administration. Maintains security of the database by discussing confidential information on the Blackbaud System only with licensed users. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four (4) years of related experience
  • Knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to travel &work beyond normal office hours and/or on weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in development/fundraising
  • Demonstrated experience planning and implementing special events
  • Fundraising experience
  • Experience in Higher Education
