For more information, please visit www.youthvillages.org Position Overview: The Development Manager supports and advances fundraising strategies and helps grow philanthropic revenue through new donor acquisition, donor stewardship, and data-driven development operations. This role plays an integral part in implementing initiatives that expand the network of individuals, corporations, and community partners investing in our mission to help children and families live successfully.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • At least two years of professional experience (required)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discrete manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with donors, corporate partners, board members, colleagues, and the general public
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule (including some weeknights and weekends)

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an active member of the Development team, contributing to long‑term strategic planning and day‑to‑day execution of departmental initiatives
  • Supports the implementation, execution, and evaluation of the annual development plan
  • Assists the Director of Development in creating, implementing, and managing a tiered stewardship program to support donor retention and increased giving
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards Champion‑level ($1,000+) donors (including individuals and businesses)
  • Partners with program staff to identify mission‑aligned opportunities for donor engagement and storytelling
  • Provides support for all additional activities required to meet and exceed Youth Villages annual fundraising goals
  • Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of donor and prospect data, supporting high-quality relationship management and strategic decision‑making
  • Develops and maintains processes that enhance efficiency across fundraising activities
  • Monitors and recommends emerging trends and best practices into donor engagement strategies and departmental systems
  • Develops, refines, and maintains internal systems that support pipeline management, stewardship tracking, and donor insights
  • Utilizes reports to inform strategy, track performance, and guide portfolio management
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes fundraising, cultivation, and recognition events (including the annual breakfast and gala)
  • Manages the production of statewide gift‑drive initiatives (including Holiday Heroes and Our Family Campaign) by collaborating with staff, sponsors, and volunteers
  • Adheres to all corporate sponsorship benefits and deliverables
  • Supports and engages the Ambassador Board by helping mobilize emerging professionals to promote and succeed in their fundraising initiatives and community reach
  • Recruits, trains, and manages relationships with community volunteers to ensure the success of events, campaigns, and fundraising projects
