The American Heart Association has a Temporary, part-time Development Manager opportunity based in Arlington, VA . The primary focus for this position is supporting our Associate VP, Development, with a major campaign initiative for the Greater Washington Region. This position will be based in our Arlington, VA, office and will require a total of 110 hours over approximately 10 days. This is a temporary, part-time position and will go through the event timeframe that will be outlined by management, ending in mid-May. This part-time position will not be eligible for benefits or paid time off. Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or other related experience
  • University/College degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to do daily local travel up to 25 %; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components, or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level
  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a high level of service by responding to customer inquiries both internally and externally in a knowledgeable and timely manner.
  • Working independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
  • Working with the staff and auction committee on silent and live auctions for the Heart's Delight, including data management, inventory, donation outreach, and other duties.
  • Assisting with event logistics, including recruiting and training volunteers, scheduling, in-person meetings, set up, execution, and tear down.
  • Process data using our management systems, ensuring accuracy and making changes as necessary.
