About The Position

The Development Intern will be exposed to and gain valuable work experience in several phases of the multifamily development process. This includes market analyses, site selection, financial analyses and budgeting, design conceptualization, the entitlement process and participation in the construction/lease up process. Red Tail Acquisitions is a real estate investment company facilitating apartment acquisitions, development, dispositions, and asset management for its private investors. Red Tail owns and operates more than 13,000 apartment units throughout the country.

Requirements

Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Real Estate
Familiarity with real estate financial modeling concepts
Great time management skills
Values working hard and performing at a high level
Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
Able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels throughout the Company
Capable of working independently and as a member of a team
Experience with Microsoft Office, proficiency with Excel

Responsibilities

Tracking and analyzing all aspects of the target multifamily real estate markets
Participating in weekly development pipeline calls with the team
Participating in calls with consultants, architects, engineers, general contractors etc. on active projects
Working with the 3rd party entitlement team on active projects
Collaborating with the development team in the underwriting, due diligence, and modeling for new developments and future acquisitions
Maintaining development statistics and analysis for the target markets (Rents, Active General Contractors, Permits and Fees, Construction Costs, etc.)
Preparing and presenting Investment Reports to executives and committees
Organizing pipeline and tracking timelines as deals move through their life cycle
Assisting through the financing process (drafting loan packages, responding to lender questions and organizing deal information)
Assisting with ad hoc projects
