About The Position

We are looking for a Development Intern to join our team at Feeding Westchester for the summer! Reporting directly to the Manager, Individual Giving, the Development intern plays a critical role in supporting Feeding Westchester’s efforts to build awareness about our mission, services, needs and successes, as well as to position the organization in leading hunger-relief in Westchester County. We are looking for someone that has a desire to learn the Development and food banking functions within the non-profit sector while assuming some executive administrative functions on behalf of the team. This is a great stepping stone as it will provide exposure to many different aspects of non-profit work.

Requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and research skills
Ability to problem solve and learn new concepts quickly
Strong planning and project management skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team structure
Interest in influencer marketing, fundraising and nonprofit work; experience a plus
Passion for hunger relief

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Manager, Individual Giving, on the logistics and coordination of our new Hunger Youth Committee
Assist in planning and executing special projects within the Peer-to-Peer program, and donor stewardship activities, such as volunteer projects and donor recognition events
Assist in the development of fundraising materials and management of platforms
Provide support in maintaining relationships with donors and supporters, including summer newsletter mailing
Assist in tracking and analyzing fundraising data and compiling reports for management
Conduct research to identify potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities
Provide general administrative support to the fundraising department, such as creating informational folders, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence
