Flexible duration, beginning in January to May 2026 As an internship company, we allow the intern to enroll in classes during the internship, if it doesn't interfere with the essential functions of the position. This internship position will work with the data quality team on a variety of metrology systems to support priority initiatives in manufacturing floor settings. The scope of the internship includes operating necessary tools, lifting solar panels and monitoring/controlling an experiment setup to produce data on the production floor. Perform quality checks & monitor established procedures, compile data and analyze the results of said data, then communicate the results/conclusions to the above engineer. In addition, at least one special project is to be assigned. Depending on the needs of the project, the intern may also develop procedures for safely & correctly accomplishing tasks(s) associated with their assigned project. Provide weekly updates on the status of the assigned project to the above engineer. Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program
  • Pursuing Physics, Material Science, Mechanical engineering or Electrical engineering
  • Experience of working in hands-on technical settings
  • Experience with JMP or other programming languages
  • Good knowledge of physics concepts, experience in collecting data from experiments
  • Self-motivated, independent worker who can flourish in individual or team-based environments
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Independent learner with a passion for gaining new skills and knowledge
  • Agile mentality, responds well to a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience with fundamental Microsoft technologies: Windows OS, Office 365, etc.
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
  • Will lift, push or pull up to 37 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • 20/40 vision in both eyes together, with or without correction, is required.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards, and a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair) for those requiring respirator use.
