About The Position

As an Aerodynamics Engineer within our Compressor Product Development organization, you will work with colleagues in the United States and Germany on the design and development of new product aerodynamic components and concepts, and improvements to our existing portfolio of single-shaft and integral gear centrifugal compressor products. As the first Aero point of contact at our Houston location, you will have the responsibility to support compressor testing, root cause failure investigation, order execution, and proposal development for both new equipment and revamp opportunities!

Requirements

  • Must have a Master's degree or a Ph.D. degree in Aerodynamics, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field required.
  • Familiarity and a strong interest in aerodynamics is required.
  • Experience with centrifugal turbomachinery is a plus.
  • Experience in using CFD software and techniques to simulate complex fluid flows, including grid generation, simulation, and post-processing. Knowledge of turbomachinery CFD software will be an advantage.
  • Optional: Practical experience in programming / scripting using such languages as Fortran, C, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Good communication and organizational skills, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and the ability to function on individual and group projects. A positive attitude and a good work ethic
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

  • By supporting Engineering in any aerodynamic aspects during order execution.
  • By supporting root cause analyses of compressor performance issues.
  • By being the Aerodynamic go-to person at the Houston site!
