The Bethel Education Foundation is seeking qualified applicants for a Development Assistant position. The person selected to fill this position would be an employee of the Bethel Education Foundation. Supervisor: Executive Director, Bethel Education Foundation Board of Directors Typical Current Schedule: 10-15 Hours a week; Monday-Friday This position is to support Bethel Education Foundation’s financial interests, daily office activities, and events and fundraising. The Development Assistant reports to the Executive Director and the Bethel Education Foundation Board with direction and guidance from the Bethel Education Foundation Board President. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Percentages of time are estimates and will ebb and flow throughout the year. Additionally, while some tasks are listed under a specific category, they may overlap. Foundation Support (45%): Collaborate with BEF President/Board members and district leaders as needed. Build community awareness about BSD & BEF through community outreach. Create and publish social media material to increase community visibility (Facebook, ParentSquare, etc.). Coordinate grant events and schedule with volunteers and schools. Connect with community fundraising opportunities and schedule monthly events. Create regular newsletter communication email. Website content updates. Check mail at District. Prepare for board meetings (financials, agenda, get room ready, computer setup, etc.). Attend weekly check in meetings with Executive Director, and monthly check in meetings with BEF President. Research grant opportunities. Database Management (20%): Attend online trainings to learn database (currently Little Green Light). Track prospects, communication, asks and stewardship in databases. Produce monthly gift reports. Finance Management Support 10%): Record and track income and expenditures in QuickBooks and Little Green Light. Invoice donors for sponsorships and track giving. Write checks and coordinate check signing. Event Management Support (20%): Assist in soliciting and collecting gifts, sponsorships and in-kind donations to support BEF efforts. Assist in arranging logistics to include securing venues, ordering food, supplies and rental items, and executing contracts on behalf of the Bethel Education Foundation. Assist in creating guest lists, coordinate registration, create event/project plans, and seating arrangements for events. Other (5%): Coordinate, organize and manage Resource Pantry ordering and delivery efforts. Coordinate snack bag ordering and assembling and delivery to schools every other week.
