Join Gateway Foundation today and become part of a team dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of others.  Position Summary:Under general supervision, supports the Development Department by coordinating fundraising and engagement events and serving as the primary staff liaison to the Catalyst Council (formerly Young Professionals Board). This position collaborates closely with the development team to execute events, support volunteer leadership, and assist with shared development operations, ensuring responsibilities are distributed across multiple roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years nonprofit experience; development, event coordination, or volunteer engagement experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, and PowerPoint; donor database experience required (Bloomerang preferred).
  • Must be available for occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Experience working with volunteer committees, boards, or councils preferred.
  • Must possess effective communication, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting events, programs, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, priority-setting, and time-management skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute ideas to enhance engagement and fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and plans the execution of Gateway Foundation-sponsored fundraising, cultivation, and community engagement events in collaboration with the Development team. (i.e., Annual Fundraising Events, Community Events and Galas, , and other events as needed.)
  • Oversee event logistics, vendor selection, timelines, and execution strategies to ensure events meet financial, cultivation, and engagement objectives.
  • Plan, direct and facilitate Catalyst Council meetings, including setting objectives, developing agendas, preparing materials, determines appropriate follow-up actions to advance fundraising and engagement goals, and serves as the primary staff liaison.
  • Implement Catalyst Council fundraising initiatives, volunteer projects, and outreach efforts inalignment with Gateway Foundation’s development goals.
  • Manage event related donor stewardship workflows determining appropriate post-event engagement, follow-up communications, and acknowledgment strategies in coordination with the Development team.
  • Maintains accurate event- and engagement-related records, including RSVPs, attendance tracking, anddocumentation in the donor database.
  • Oversee event and engagement-related database processes, including report analysis and record updates, using data to inform future event strategies and donor engagement decisions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on the development and execution of invitations, sponsorship materials, event collateral, and impact summaries, exercising discretion in messaging priorities and timelines.
  • Develop and manage event planning tools, including timelines, calendars, and tracking systems, with accountability for meeting milestones and deliverables.
  • Oversee in-kind donations related to events and Catalyst Council-led initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Development team members contributing strategicrecommendations to ensure consistent donor engagement, effective stewardship, and strong data governance.
  • Supports other projects and work of the development team as needed.
  • Develop and write/produce content for internal and external communications in conjunction with the development and marketing teams.
