About The Position

This position will handle the day-to-day activities of the Communications and Development Specialist position, which includes creating communications materials and helping support special events and other development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years nonprofit experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook) and WordPress, and highly proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and familiarity with other Adobe programs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison and build positive working relationships with community members and partnering agencies.
  • Co-manage CHC social media accounts, including creating strategies, content calendars, and analytics reports.
  • Design and produce print and electronic materials consistent with CHC brand standards (e.g., e-newsletters, brochures, flyers, annual report, education and development packets, and editing videos occasionally).
  • Work with all CHC departments to create and distribute patient communications.
  • Oversee the grammar, formatting, and structure of all patient-facing documents (including participation on Doc-Omittee and Survey/Phones Committee).
  • Assist with planning and execution of fundraising events.
  • Support all development activities, including donor relations, in-kind gift management, database management.
  • Assist with media outreach (e.g., creating targeted media lists, drafting press releases and press conference logostics).
  • Manage website maintenance and upkeep.
  • Research and contribute text for foundational, corporate and government grant opportunities.
  • Contribute CR&D Committee agenda items and support meeting with scheduled reminders, Minute taking and follow-up materials.
  • Ensure that all services are maintained in accordance with CHC’s mission and goals.
  • Other duties as assigned
