About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Developer Relations Engineering lead to drive the developer experience (DevX) transformation needed to bridge the gap between our cutting-edge technology platforms and third-party ecosystems and integrations. You will lead a team that works closely with various developer advocacy, marketing, product management, engineering, support, and design teams to create developer-focused end-to-end experiences and content with a focus on AI. The team’s success will require deep collaboration with the broader Developer Relations and Marketing teams and participation in their community outreach and advocacy mission. Together we will ensure that our developers have the best possible environment to create, build, and innovate on Qualcomm technologies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager or similar leadership role.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development with a deep understanding of developer tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in actively participating and contributing to open-source and AI projects and communities is essential.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Proficiency in open-source development and programming languages such as Python, C++
  • Understand trends in AI/ML model design and experience with common AI workflows
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and environments (e.g., Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Actions, CI/CD tools).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in DevX practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of best practices in software and open-source development and contribution
  • 4+ years of working in a large matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with Qualcomm’s developer tools, APIs, and technical ecosystems
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities—able to translate technical details into clear business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers focused on ensuring the best developer experience outcomes for a range of Qualcomm product portfolios
  • Collaborate and support development of applications, tools, documentation and framework integrations that improve developer productivity.
  • Drive the design and development of end-to-end experiences across multiple Qualcomm product families to demonstrate unique and compelling technology use cases
  • Champion cross-functional efforts to identify and resolve issues that adversely affect developer experience and efficiency
  • Work closely with BU product and engineering teams to ensure developer feedback and experience improvements are incorporated into product development and updates
