About The Position
ABOUT THE TEAM Our manufacturing development team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, including static equipment, moving ground equipment, and flight vehicles. This team’s responsibility includes sheet metal processing, engineering design, and manufacturing procedures. ABOUT THE JOB The ideal candidate for this role has a track record of taking ownership in solving fabrication challenges. They have creatively devised physical solutions, either personally manufacturing them or overseeing the manufacturing process. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Process sheet metal parts utilizing CNC laser cutting, CNC press brake, and various other machine tools Perform quality checks on completed products Troubleshoot issues with the fabrication equipment Maintain fabrication equipment Follow OSHA safety guidelines
Requirements
- Sheet metal processing experience with AMADA ENSIS Fiber Laser with 5+ years of experience
- Proficient in operation of AMADA ENSIS Fiber Lasers and supporting equipment
- Proficient in maintenance of AMADA ENSIS Fiber Lasers and supporting equipment
- Proficient in the installation and setup of AMADA ENSIS Fiber Lasers and supporting equipment
- Proficiency in AMADA Fiber Laser cut conditions and settings
- Proficient in G-Code and M-Code relating to AMADA ENSIS Fiber Lasers
- CAD (SolidWorks, NX) experience with expertise in Sheet Metal design
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings
- Proficient in sheet metal properties (Material types and physical properties)
- Sheet metal processing experience with AMADA CNC press brake with 3+ years of experience
- AMADA CNC Press Brake tooling setup
- AMADA CNC Press Brake programming
- AMADA CNC Press Brake Operation
- Metal fabrication in an R&D environment with 5+ years of experience
- Proficient with cam software from SigmaNest and Amada AP100
- Ability to work through R&D tasks with limited oversight (evaluate, design, order materials, execute)
- High level of mechanical aptitude (aerospace/automotive/motorsports background).
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures.
- Ability to multi-task
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data
Nice To Haves
- Basic use of conventional machining equipment (mill/lathe)
- General knowledge and operation of waterjet
- Welding (GMAW/GTAW) of steel, stainless, aluminum, exotic alloys
- CNC machine operating/setup experience
- General knowledge with AC and DC electrical systems
- Understanding of Pem Hardware solutions
