About The Position

This person will install, modify, and make minor repairs to computer hardware and software systems. Following design or installation specifications, they will install or assist in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives at user work area. They will load or grant access to specified software packages, replace defective or inadequate software packages, and perform other duties as required, escalating complex problems as necessary.

Requirements

  • Must be self motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Knowledge of information technology.
  • Knowledge of data and voice communication systems.
  • Knowledge of management information systems.
  • Knowledge of local area networks (LAN).
  • Knowledge of wide area networks (WAN).
  • Knowledge of client/server network protocols and internet/intranet applications.
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot PC systems.
  • Possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and well organized.

Nice To Haves

  • College graduate with emphasis in information technology, management information services, computer science or a closely related field and/or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, and make minor repairs to computer hardware and software systems.
  • Install or assist in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives at user work area.
  • Load or grant access to specified software packages.
  • Replace defective or inadequate software packages.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Escalate complex problems as necessary.
  • Support end-user hardware including workstations, printers, faxes, copiers, and wireless and telecommunication systems.
  • Support end-user standard workstation software and systems, including the current application suite (including e-mail), remote connectivity (including VPN), browser and antivirus solutions.
  • General connectivity troubleshooting.
  • IT equipment asset tracking.
  • Utilize an internal call tracking system for end-user incident management and reporting.
  • Interacts with HGH Staff and vendors to resolve basic help desk issues; communicates with HGH staff and vendors in a professional manner maintaining confidentiality.
  • Works with all user levels.
  • Assists with the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
  • Keeps workroom neat, organized and secure.
  • Promotes responsible usage and care of corporate equipment.
  • Relays relevant IT-related information to the company in a timely manner.
  • Participates in the implementation and support of IT -related policies.
  • Travels between onsite campus buildings and offsite buildings.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient/resident/staff information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
