About The Position

This position is responsible for providing basic technical assistance to computer users. The Desktop Support Technician answers questions or resolves computer problems for users via telephone or electronically.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware and peripherals
  • Experience supporting Windows 7 and 10, Microsoft 365
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and 2016? Cloud?
  • Working knowledge of imaging and deploying PCs
  • Enterprise network experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Cat5e/6 cabling preferred
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management and prioritization capabilities.
  • High level of professionalism, able to effectively partner with medical center staff, co-workers, and patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and manage multiple demands and priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • A+ certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide general IT helpdesk support.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets; Working with users in-person and remotely to resolve issues
  • Monitor computer system performance to ensure proper operation
  • Collaborate with users to resolve information technology issues
  • Teach users to operate computer equipment or hardware
  • Train users in computer interface or software use
  • Refer major hardware/software problems to IT Manager for resolution
  • Install, configure, monitor and perform repairs to computer hardware, software, mobile and peripheral equipment.
  • Install computer software/hardware
  • Test computer software/hardware performance
  • Resolve computer software/hardware problems
  • Evaluate utility of software/hardware technologies
  • Ensure optimal performance of IT related hardware, software, mobile and peripheral equipment.
  • Recommend changes to improve computer or information systems
  • Conduct research to gain information about products or processes
  • Modify software programs to improve performance
  • Identify areas of improvement
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Serve in on-call rotation
  • Participate in the procurement of PC hardware
  • Complete assigned daily tasks to ensure optimal functionality of IT operations
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by IT Manager
