About The Position

The Desk Attendant Assistant Lead is responsible for providing real-time, on-site oversight of residence hall front desk operations during the night shift. This role focuses on ensuring appropriate staffing coverage in the moment through active presence across residence halls. The Assistant Lead physically checks in with each front desk during their shift, facilitates staff breaks by rotating between buildings as needed, and responds to call-offs as they are received once the shift begins. This position works in coordination with the Desk Attendant Lead to support real-time front desk operations and staffing coverage during the shift. When coverage gaps occur, the Assistant Lead arranges coverage through immediate staffing adjustments or provides coverage directly as needed. This role helps maintain consistent desk operations, improves overall coverage, and reduces the need to assign duty RAs to front desk coverage during overnight hours. The position includes the core responsibilities of a desk attendant, with additional authority to monitor staffing status, make real-time coverage decisions, and communicate concerns to the Desk Attendant Lead and other supervisory staff as appropriate.

  • Good analytical and planning skills in order to manage adapting the schedule as needed are a must.
