In this role you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining engineering project design layouts, production drawings and other related documentation. Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 3+ years drafting or equivalent experience required
  • Familiarity with fastening and joining techniques, especially sheet metal related.
  • Understanding of AWS welding symbols and application to engineered working drawings.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
  • Validated skills in attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot design issues while providing direction to facilitate the assembly of products.

Responsibilities

  • Apply standard drafting practices to produce moderately difficult drawings of parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, catalog items, tooling layouts and facility plans.
  • Read and interpret product and customer supplied drawings.
  • Quickly and accurately turn customer specifications into manufacturing designs and drawings.
  • Apply technical knowledge to products and processes, working with both internal and external sources.
  • Provide drafting and additional documentation support on a schedule that is consistent with provided instructions, and with minimal direction.
  • Apply specific technological expertise to a variety of projects.
  • Research specifications and identify purchased components for use in designs.
  • Perform tolerance stack analysis of complex assemblies and drawings prior to release of documentation.
