About The Position

Collaborate with the Strategic Accounts Account Management team to represent the technical and/or creative design process in meetings, presentation, and strategic selling scenarios. Contribute to company-wide peer group meetings focused on trends, project reviews and development of best practices.

Requirements

  • 2+ years interior design and/or furniture dealership experience
  • Strong knowledge of ancillary furniture resources
  • 2+ years furniture space planning experience required
  • AutoCAD proficiency required, and CAP/CAP Worksheets experience preferred
  • Proficiency in applications: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, Sketch-Up, SmartSheet, Bluebeam, Google Sheets, Dropbox
  • Strong knowledge of interior design field and current practices
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace trends (aesthetic, ergonomics, technology integration, workplace culture, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of Insidesource furniture vendor partners, including features/benefits, pricing, application and assembly, specification options and nomenclature
  • Understanding of contract furniture processes, including specification development, order preparation, project management, order management and delivery/installation
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent graphic design capabilities and design eye
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to facilitate design development activities with client and client’s project team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced and collaborative work environment
  • Ability to multi-task and manage workload to achieve project deliverable deadlines
  • Ability to responsibly interface with: client, client’s A&D firm, electrician, client’s IT group, etc.
  • Ability to responsibly interface with: dealership sales, project management, account coordination, order management and operations/installation groups

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with Account Management team, identify scope of work and design intent/approach
  • Assist Account Management team in developing project design approach and identify furniture solutions for assigned projects
  • Create and update design development packages (including multiple product options per area, fabric/finish coordination/selection, lead time sensitivity and budgetary/price point observance) for assigned projects
  • Perform onsite architectural field verifications/dimensions and update floor plans (via AutoCAD/Revit) as needed
  • Align ancillary furniture specifications and counts to technical design drawings for accuracy and consistency
  • Review vendor shop drawings to ensure correct integration within project space and adherence to design intent prior to client review and approval
  • Generate thorough, accurate and timely final product specifications (including stated lead times and freight/shipping costs) for proposal creation including final review of specifications to ensure accuracy and adherence to original design intent
  • Seek out new trends in workplace design, changes in building codes and product design to be disseminated throughout the Design Department
  • In collaboration with Account Management team, identify scope of work and design intent/approach
  • Generate space plans and test fits for furniture layouts
  • Provide occupancy and furniture piece counts
  • Maintain current AutoCAD/Revit backgrounds and updates as needed
  • Application and/or generation of furniture symbols/blocks/families in AutoCAD/Revit
  • Identify dimensioned power/signal placement locations on furniture layouts and room types
  • Generate numbering plans applying industry standards or customer designated nomenclature
  • Generate thorough, accurate and timely final product specifications for proposal creation including final review of specifications to ensure accuracy and adherence to original design intent
  • Provide complete drawings and detail furniture plans throughout project life span – from block plan to typical development to installation documents
  • Perform onsite architectural field verifications/dimensions and update floor plans (via AutoCAD/Revit) as needed
  • Attend internal team and client-facing meetings as needed
  • Perform programming sessions throughout project life cycle to obtain relevant client requirements and objectives and relay to teammates
  • Contact vendors for product pricing while managing all project-related quotes
  • Perform drawing double checks and spec checks of design teammate’s output
  • Timely and accurate time tracking and documentation of performed tasks
