About The Position

We are seeking a Designer Level 1 to join our growing team. In this role, you will generate drawings, details, and technical data to support the fabrication and manufacturing of food processing equipment. This position requires proficiency in industrial mechanical drafting and hands‑on experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow within a collaborative engineering environment.

Requirements

Specialized drafting training (associate degree or equivalent experience).
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
Understanding of industrial mechanical design and drafting practices.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Strong work ethic, integrity, and desire to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

Create accurate and functional fabrication drawings for Idaho Steel equipment.
Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to develop technical designs and details.
Perform basic self‑checks and maintain quality standards.
Manage and coordinate drawings for multiple projects simultaneously.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks and documentation.
Follow all shop safety practices and company policies.
Travel as needed for project support.
Maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, coworkers, and the community.
