About The Position

Designer II actively participates in project design and document production by executing landscape architectural project assignments. Under the direction of a registered Landscape Architect, Designer II is responsible for the production of accurate, complete, and coordinated documents.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Landscape Architecture program with a Bachelor's or Master’s level degree
  • 2+ years’ relevant experience in design and documentation of Landscape Architecture projects
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality design and landscape architectural drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to make design and documentation decisions requiring discretion and good judgement
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated competency with required computer software (see above)
  • Currently pursuing licensure requirements to become a registered Landscape Architect

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to both Cooper Carry and Client guidelines and requirements and meet established deadlines for each project
  • Demonstrate professional landscape architectural skills – including drawing, rendering, graphic and presentation skills utilizing internal resources
  • Demonstrate computer skills for regularly used software (AutoCAD, Land F/X, Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrate ability to make design and documentation decisions using discretion and good judgement
  • Prepare and produce design drawings and construction documents, as directed
  • Inform Project Leaders of potential project opportunities
  • Demonstrate an understanding of site planning standards, applicable site codes, and construction methods
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and project resources
  • Promote a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Contribute as required to support the success of the studio and firm
  • Collaborate with project leaders and colleagues in the design process
  • Complete design and project topical research, as needed
  • Demonstrate an understanding and promotion of Landscape Architecture Studio standards (drawing conventions, project phase requirements, etc.)
  • Continue the licensure process to become a registered Landscape Architect
