Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking a Designer/ Drafter to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI. Palisades Nuclear Power Plant may soon become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. JOB SUMMARY Designer/ Drafters are contributors to building and maintaining the design basis of the nuclear power plant. Drafters ensure configuration control and create products used through the organization to maintain and repair the plant.

Requirements

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • All experience levels considered.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in drafting standards, symbols, nomenclature, CAD tools, and engineering terms, including the use of materials, reference books and catalogs.
  • Good to excellent communication skills.
  • Experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired: Associate degree in technical design or computer-aided drafting
  • Nuclear Power Plant experience preferred.
  • CAD certification or similar training or experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Creates technical drawings or designs for equipment, structures, electronics, and processes.
  • Coordinates with Engineering to ensure the accuracy and usability of plant design documents.
  • Reads, interprets, and applies information from manufacturer’s drawings, catalogs, and other information in creating design documents.
