About The Position

Typical duties of this position include leading the development of drawings of concrete and steel structures and general civil design on hydroelectric and fish passage projects under the direction of mid-and senior-level engineering staff. The scope and scale of projects at Kleinschmidt will engage your curiosity and facilitate professional growth. Travel may be required to gather project information and provide support throughout the project design and construction phases. Kleinschmidt focuses on practical solutions with multi-disciplinary teams for renewable energy projects, dam removals, embankment dam repairs, fish passage facilities, recreation facilities, and stream restorations. We are looking for someone to join a dynamic team of professionals working on unique projects across the United States and Canada.

Requirements

  • Associates in Drafting or similar degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD leading the development of architectural, structural (concrete and steel structures), mechanical, electrical, and civil drawing sets.
  • Proven 3D design experience with ability to visualize and communicate in 3D.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and modeling software (Solidworks, AutoCAD MEP, Revit, BIM, MicroStation, InfraWorks, Recap, and/or 3DsMax).
  • Excellent problem solving skills and oral and written communication skills
  • Enjoys collaborating with clients and co-workers and can integrate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to travel periodically and possess a valid driver's license

  • Autodesk Advanced Certified Professional
  • Experience with hydropower related projects
