THE ROLE: We are seeking an exceptional individual to deliver technical leadership in executing the verification infrastructure strategy for our upcoming microprocessor designs. In this role, you will serve as the compute and storage liaison for the cores organization, overseeing and reviewing resource usage across various teams. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing current verification infrastructure methodologies, optimizing existing infrastructure, and contributing to related projects and assignments to support overall organization objectives. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is continuously thinking of new ways to increase computing efficiency and performance while collaborating with teams across AMD to meet their compute infrastructure requirements. This individual demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to challenges. Requirements

  • Understanding of IT Infrastructure such as servers, networking, storage, operating systems, etc.
  • Solid understanding of IBM LSF
  • Hands-on experience in a large-scale software development environment
  • Expertise collaborating across organizational boundaries and multiple geographies
  • Familiarity with metrics collection and visualization using Grafana or PowerBI
  • Object Oriented Programming with C/C++ and scripting with Python, Perl, and/or Ruby
  • MySQL and database design experience
  • DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines experience with tools like Jenkins and Github Actions
  • Familiar with distributed source control systems like Git
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with using AI/Machine Learning tools is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work within cores organization to review compute and storage requests to ensure responsible use of resources
  • Planning and forecasting of compute and storage for future programs
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze current behavior, identify potential areas for improvement and design of experiments
  • Strong communications skills. Able to summarize complex problems for directors as well as drill down to details with engineers
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance and direction for scalable infrastructure demands.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, drive root-cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions
  • Stay up to date with new DevOps tools, infrastructure improvements, and performance optimization techniques
