About The Position
This role involves designing and supporting a variety of utility projects, including storm hardening, new construction, and solar initiatives. The Design Technician II will be responsible for drafting, calculating, coordinating, and ensuring high-quality work, while also growing their skills in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of prior experience in electric distribution
- Proficiency in drafting/design software (e.g., ArcFM, ArcMap, Infor or Pole Foreman, AutoCAD)
- Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment.

- Associates degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Support a variety of utility design projects, including storm hardening (relocating/reframing lines to prevent outages), new construction, residential and commercial projects, solar farms/panels, reconductoring, removals, and fault sensor installations.
- Complete design tasks such as drafting, calculations, easement validation, cost estimating, and permit package development.
- Manage multiple tasks to meet project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
- Communicate professionally with clients, stakeholders, and team members, while following company safety rules, design standards, and governing authority regulations.
- Identify errors, update client records accurately, perform QC checks, and train junior team members.
- Ensure high-quality work, support construction coordination, and perform other duties as assigned.
