About The Position

Stellant Systems currently has an opportunity for an onsite Design Specialist at our Torrance, California site.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree and a minimum of 6 years relevant experience, OR bachelor’s degree and minimum 4 years relevant experience, OR graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be used in lieu of education.
• Advanced experience with enterprise level CAD software (e.g., Creo, Siemens NX, CATIA) a must
• Proficient in the use of GD&T to layout dimension schemes, including but not limited to thoughtful datum feature application, hole pattern true positions with modifiers, MMB, runout, flatness, profile and parallelism applications, among others required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (e.g. Green Card holder), or a protected individual as defined by the International Traffic in Arm Regulations (ITAR).

Nice To Haves

• Creo and Windchill experience preferred.
• Familiarity with traveling wave tubes or vacuum tube technology a plus.
• Familiarity with space design standards and design for manufacturing preferred.
• RF experience a plus.
• Checker experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD models and engineering drawings of products and tools with dimension schemes using GD&T.
• Collaborate with engineering team to develop new products to design specifications, industry and military standards, design for manufacturing concepts, and continuous improvement objectives.
• Independently design tooling solutions for the efficient manufacture of traveling wave tubes and electronics.
• Lead assigned design projects by proactively collecting required information and using sound judgment to make decisions with minimal oversight.
• Make drawing/model changes authorized by Engineering Change Notices.
