About The Position

Join our dedicated team as a Design Specialist, where you will perform design and analysis on a variety of utility-related engineering tasks with ongoing supervision. ENTRUST Solutions Group is an industry leader in engineering, consulting, and automation services for gas, electric, telecom, and pipeline utilities, known for delivering safe, accurate, and client-focused solutions. In this role, you will be at the forefront of supporting utility design projects, ensuring designs meet company standards, safety requirements, and governing authority regulations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a Technical Field or typically, 3-6 years’ related work experience
  • Prior experience in construction, utility, OSP/telecom design, or pipeline industry preferred
  • Proficient experience in GIS software (SmallWorld, Bentley Utility Designer) and/or CAD skills (AutoCAD, Micro-Station)

Responsibilities

  • Complete design and analysis tasks for associated utility design projects, including drafting, calculations, easement validation, design and construction cost estimating, permit package development, and participation in virtual and in-person client meetings.
  • Identify and verify existing overhead and underground utilities by reviewing field data, maps, and finalized application documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage multiple projects to ensure timely, successful completion while meeting productivity, quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Learn and incorporate company safety rules, design standards, and governing authority regulations into daily work to ensure compliance.
  • Track project progress according to client and company procedures through submission.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders through team leads and project managers.
  • Self-check work prior to submission, participate in peer and quality control reviews, and complete work with minimal errors.
  • May provide day-to-day oversight of assigned resources, including timekeeping and billing approvals, participation in hiring and onboarding activities, and support of employee performance management.
  • Perform additional related duties, including field work, as required.

  • This position pays $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience, and is an exempt position. Benefits offered include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full‑time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for a discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
