The Design Services Engineer is responsible for administering and maintaining the lifecycle processes for integrating assets into the enterprise network. This includes maintaining and updating requirements for asset identification, implementing a pre-defined process for monitoring all assets with Nagios XI, and administering an on-call and escalation response procedure for alerts. The team also oversees the onboarding and offboarding process and conducts periodic validation of assets and stakeholders. The Design Services Engineer will work closely with partners, including the GU Facilities Capital Projects Team and other project owners, on all construction projects to ensure the IT department quickly provides formal requirements as needed. This team member will identify and provide all IT requirements in Division 27 format to the appropriate project stakeholders. This team member will maintain and update the centralized library of documents to ensure that they are easy to access, accurate, and up to date through periodic reviews with stakeholders. This team plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business operations, including construction, and IT infrastructure. The team will engage with various internal and external partners to ensure seamless integration of IT components into new projects. This includes attending Owner, Architect, and Construction (OAC) meetings, engaging with FPM for vendor and contractor oversight within our network closets, and collaborating with INO to review and oversee all networking requirements. The team will also engage with preferred network vendors like NFF, Squadra, and Verizon for advanced network and cabling designs. The role may require travel to various construction sites and campus locations for meetings and site visits. The incumbent may need to navigate construction environments to conduct site surveys and inspections.
