We are seeking a Design Quality Specialist to join the Enterprise Packaging Design Team, an enterprise‑wide packaging design function responsible for advancing Solventum’s brand integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer experience through high‑quality, production‑ready packaging design. The Enterprise Packaging Design Team partners across Solventum to deliver cohesive, compliant, and scalable packaging solutions. As a subject matter expert in print quality and artwork readiness, the Design Quality Specialist ensures that packaging, labels, and instructional materials are designed for optimal print performance while aligning with brand standards and regulatory requirements. This role works in close partnership with packaging designers, artwork production designers, print quality leaders, and cross‑functional stakeholders to influence design decisions early, reduce downstream risk, and elevate the overall quality and consistency of Solventum packaging experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in graphics, printing, or a related field AND minimum of seven years of experience in a print, packaging, or artwork production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of multiple printing technologies—including offset, flexographic, digital, screen, and emerging methods—with a quality‑driven mindset and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of visual design systems, hierarchy, and brand application in packaging, with proven experience advocating for brand integrity and user experience in regulated environments.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with internal teams and suppliers and explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro), Microsoft 365 skills (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotech industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of MDD, MDR, ISO 13485, and standards associated with medical device labeling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GxP guidelines related to medical device labeling is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a print and design quality subject matter expert for enterprise‑wide packaging initiatives, including cartons, labels, and instructional materials.
  • Review, proof, and evaluate artwork files to ensure accuracy, consistency, and readiness for commercial printing, including graphics, color, coatings, substrates, and dielines.
  • Provide technical guidance and consultation to design and artwork production partners on best practices related to printing methods, materials, and file setup.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Enterprise Packaging Design Team, to establish and reinforce quality standards, best practices, and scalable design approaches across the enterprise.
  • Proactively identify and resolve graphic‑related issues with internal teams and external suppliers, driving timely and effective solutions.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Marketing, Regulatory, R&D, Packaging Engineering, and Operations to support enterprise initiatives and project timelines.
  • Contribute to the evolution of processes, systems, and tools that improve efficiency, reduce rework, and elevate packaging design quality.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and sound judgment when prioritizing work across shifting business needs and enterprise priorities.
