Requirements

  • Extensive experience in fabrication techniques including welding (MIG, TIG), machining (manual and CNC), sheet metal forming, and composite layup.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD models.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, sensor integration, and data acquisition systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, including powertrains, chassis, and suspension.
  • Experience with automotive electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and product electronics integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and support test driving activities, analyze vehicle dynamics, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the fabrication of prototype components, sub-assemblies, and complete vehicles using a variety of materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to plan and implement fabrication processes.
  • Design and develop custom fixtures, tooling, and jigs to support fabrication and assembly activities.
  • Integrate instrumentation and sensor systems into test vehicles and components for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of automotive systems.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot product electronics, wiring harnesses, and control systems.
  • Conduct and support test driving activities, evaluate vehicle performance, and provide detailed feedback for design improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and testing teams to ensure design intent and functional requirements are met.
  • Mentor junior fabricators and technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.
