About The Position

A Senior Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Administrator will serve a pivotal role in delivering a Product Lifecycle Management system that connects engineering with functional supporting departments and domains. This position will coordinate with all functional departments within the company to ensure the PLM system and implementation support the business needs and dynamically interfaces with other business systems such as but not limited to Customer Relation Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource and Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). This is a strategic leadership role that hinges on building effective relationships to automate existing procedures through the use of PLM software and drive innovative changes leveraging industries best practices. Plans, supervises and directs designers and drafters in their development of various designs and 3D models and, scaled layouts of aerospace and marine valves, filters, manifolds and electromechanical products. Ensures that design processes are optimized for quality, efficiency and consistency. Responsible for delegating assignments among team members to efficiently meet the needs of program priorities. Responsible for tracking work flow and communicating the status of project commitments to team members and key management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience preferably using PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Enovia, Windchill or Autodesk Manage in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Possess strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate direct reports to meet company set deadlines and achieve common goals.
  • Working knowledge of MS computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or Information Technology and a minimum of 8 years of related experience in an Aerospace Engineering and Manufacturing environment.
  • Must have direct experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems.
  • Teamcenter PLM experience is a preferred or an equivalent in an Aerospace Engineering and Manufacturing environments
  • Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Results oriented with ability to organize, prioritize, and research multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with company personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate technical information either verbally or when required by developing standard operating procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook).
  • AutoCAD/3D Inventor/Autodesk ProductStream (Vault) experience required.
  • A Bachelors' degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from four-year college or university, and minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous drafting and design supervision with proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to translate business requirements into specific PLM solutions, by identifying gaps in business processes and transforming them into PLM improvement initiatives. Develop and document AS IS and TO BE Solution Specification for team members to work from.
  • Evaluate business objectives that require new enhanced processes, integration requirements with other technology solutions in conjunction with subject matter experts.
  • Requires excellent problem solving, oral and written communication skills, effective presentation skills to demonstrate concepts and solutions that are clear and concise.
  • Project Management skills to deploy simple to complex business systems integrations to generate one true source of information and timely and accurate flow downs to the next process or consumers of information. Business systems integrations may be but not limited to Business Intelligence, Customer Relation Management, Enterprise Resource and Planning, Product Data Management or Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Delivers a strategic vision of how to utilize a Product Lifecycle Management system across the organization that meets the company's goals and initiatives.
  • Supervise daily activities and work flow of design and drafting teams.
  • Scrutinize all drawing requests for completeness and accuracy to ensure consistent and efficient drawing creation.
  • Coordinate with various functional groups to determine and prioritize design requirements and establish completion deadlines; creates and tracks resource loading chart, delegates work assignments as appropriate and monitors assignment progression to ensure project commitments are completed on time.
  • Analyze processes, recommend and implement improvements accordingly and effectively utilize internal and external resources to control costs and optimize productivity.
  • Actively participate in IPT meetings and supports Management Resource Planning activities.
  • Develop the plan for man loading, scheduling, and maintaining the electronic CAD files and generation of engineering operations procedures.
  • Evaluate design ideas based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price, production costs methods of production and client specification
  • Determine feasibility of new design concepts or modification of an existing design.
  • Integrate findings and concepts and sketches design ideas.
  • Present final design to project engineers and discusses need for modification and changes.
