Design Engineering/Computer Science Teacher
About The Position
SAR High School is a mission-driven, co-educational, modern Orthodox Jewish high school committed to student-centered learning in a rigorous and supportive environment. Beginning in the fall of 2026, our dynamic and strong Design Engineering Department is seeking a highly qualified, full-time teacher who will also serve as department chair. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in expanding and shaping the growing Design Engineering program. Responsibilities include curriculum and course development, instructional leadership, and the design, planning and implementation of a new Maker Space. Responsibilities include close collaboration with the other teachers on the team and classroom teaching of courses which integrate coding, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Machine Learning, and robotics, as well as coaching our Robotics team and other co-curriculars. Experience in the First Tech Challenge League preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in the state preferred but not required.
- Experience teaching coding, Javascript, C++, Python, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, building circuits, 3D printing, laser cutting, and robotics to high school students.
- Familiarity with 21st-century learning tools and technology.
- Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the First Tech Challenge League preferred.
