PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Engineering team at Viking Pump Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a student co-op to work within our Engineering Department in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Student will participate in design projects to support Growth & Innovation and Global Distribution business Segments.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or Industrial Technology
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Major.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CAD training w/SolidWorks experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate on cross-functional project teams.
  • Support New Product Development, Value Engineering, & Derivative Product projects
  • Create and Update models and drawings in SolidWorks
  • Maintain part numbers and Bills of Material in ERP system
  • Other engineering projects as assigned.
