This position is for a Design Engineering Co-Op in the Aircraft Shafts (ACS) New Products Introduction (NPI) team located in Rome, NY. Collins Aerospace ACS are used all over the world in fixed wing, rotorcraft, lift fan, and tiltrotor applications. Collins Aerospace ACS are used to transmit power between gearboxes (main transmission, tail rotor gearboxes, Airframe mounted accessory drives, Engine mounted accessory drives) while accommodating misalignment between the two gearboxes. The Design Engineering co-op will mainly be responsible for designing components, performing stress analysis, dynamic analysis, and reviewing drawings with the supervision of the NPI Design Engineering team. Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run June-December (including the Fall semester); it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity
