About The Position

Thermal Transfer Products (TTP), an API Heat Transfer business, is hiring a Design Engineer to work in our Racine, WI. location. TTP is the premier manufacturer of heat exchangers for the Industrial and Mobile Hydraulic market. TTP is a global provider of advanced thermal transfer solutions, delivering industry-leading performance, best-in-class lead times, and the highest quality across a wide range of industrial and mobile applications. Founded in 1969, TTP specializes in a complete line of catalog-based air- and water-cooled products serving mobile and industrial hydraulic markets. Our capabilities include the design and manufacture of shell-and-tube water coolers, copper tube/aluminum fin and brazed aluminum air-cooled units, as well as custom engine cooling packages for small- to medium-sized mobile equipment. The Design Engineer will support strategic and ongoing customer engagements by providing designs, calculations, drawings, BOMs, etc. for both conventional and complex product initiatives. The Design Engineer is responsible for providing engineering input for product development projects assigned including interfacing with the cross functional team consisting of engineering, operations (industrial engineering, production, and material procurement), sourcing, quality, service, and marketing. This position reports to the Engineering Director as part of TTP’s Engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) equivalent from an accredited college or university required
  • 3D CAD design (e.g. Solidworks, AutoCad Inventor, Pro/Engineer) that includes modeling and automation systems design experience.
  • Experience with project management methods, practices and tools including scoping, facilitations, delegation, and risk management best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Solidworks experience preferred.
  • Experience with heat exchangers preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Creation of new parts in the ERP system, manufacturing bill of materials, and 3D modeling / 2D prints for production and customer approval.
  • Manage the scope of work for mechanical design on customized projects, including planning, supervising project work, and verifying designs to ensure effective performance of the work.
  • Utilize project management skills to execute coordination, communication and execution of processes with manufacturing, Purchasing, Application Engineering, Sales, and Customers.
