Design Engineer
About The Position
The design, development and implementation of new products based on Hansen International or customer generated specifications. Analyzes customer drawings, engineering sketches, specifications and related data to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of parts Utilizes computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to create, update and maintain models, drawings and documentation for current and new Hansen International products. Provides technical support to internal departments, suppliers, and customers. Generates assembly drawings, sub-assembly drawings and component drawings for new products. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Compiles and manages engineering release (ERN) documentation to ensure accuracy of BOMs and part structures. Generates drawing changes and release (ECN) documentation. Maintains current production drawings. Checking and approval of drawings. Works with Item Masters and Bill of Materials into Epicor system. Issues electronic prints internally / externally. Monitors and assists with product validation testing as required. Generate test reports.
Requirements
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- 3-5+ years of design experience (small mechanisms, stampings, castings, extrusions and injection moldings).
- CAD/Solid Molding experience with Solid Works (or equivalent) & 2-D drafting experience.
- Competent in problem solving analysis and project management (organization and presentation skills)
Nice To Haves
- Basic electronic experience is beneficial.
- Experience working in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project is a plus.
