Purpose: to join our New Product Development team to design new products and improve existing designs. Activities range from R&D, conceptual design, prototyping, sourcing, testing, manufacturing integration, and engineering change order execution. Come join us and get your design juices flowing!

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Tech major or relate
  • Hands on experience with basic shop tools
  • Knowledge and application 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work on a team
  • Be dedicated, self-initiating, and passionate about mechanical design, implementation and improvement

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with engineering design procedures and practices
  • Assist with developing and designing new parts and complete systems related to coiling overhead doors
  • Use Autodesk Inventor to design and layout part and assembly drawings and apply standard drafting practices
  • Develop engineering standards and calculations to govern infinitely variable designs for implementation into ERP system
  • Assist with generating Engineering Change Orders
  • Develop installation instructions
  • Contribute to new product ideas
  • Interact with manufacturing from design to production.
  • Oversee and/or perform assembly and testing of engineering prototypes
  • Work with technician to develop prototypes
