Stanley Consultants is seeking a Design Build Engineer Manager for our West Palm Beach office. We need additional leadership who can lead a multi-disciplinary team to manage the engineering and construction aspects of water and wastewater projects, from initial design to final delivery. This position will be responsible for project execution, budget management, client relations, and ensuring compliance with all requirements for projects that use a progressive design-build delivery method.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil, chemical, environmental, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in water or wastewater design build and project management.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Strong technical and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple disciplines and complex projects.
  • Good understanding of project delivery and ability to facilitate technical discussions when needed.
  • Proven project management experience with ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and manage risk.
  • Demonstration of strong commercial and construction contract experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Travel to other offices/sites will be required.
  • Experience managing D/B projects that are $30 Million or more.

Nice To Haves

  • A DBIA certificate is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in working with local and state regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in managing engineering subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Fiscal leadership: Proven project management skills to deliver projects at or under budget and on schedule. Working knowledge of job accounting and reporting methods such as earned value and estimates to complete.
  • Team management: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff. This position requires the skill set to directly oversee and manage detailed engineering and construction teams working collaboratively together to deliver the project. Manages the overall portfolio risk matrix and coordinates among the project managers.
  • Project delivery: Oversee all phases of project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and client satisfaction standards. Leads and manages internal and stakeholder meetings.
  • Design oversight: Manage the development of engineering designs, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates of a multi-discipline design through Stanley's water design centers, as well scheduling, constructability reviews, familiarity with job cost reporting, and budget control activities through the life of the project, including EAC analysis.
  • Client and stakeholder relations: Interface with clients, government officials, and other stakeholders, and play a role in business development.
  • Technical expertise: Provide technical consultation and decision-making for complex engineering challenges.
