About The Position

Landscape East & West is seeking to add a key member to our residential landscape installation sales department in the role of Design Associate. This position will be responsible for coordinating with the Senior Design Consultants & Client Representatives to accomplish the work required to close sales and achieve the annual department sales target.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in the landscape design and construction industry
  • Basic knowledge of Pacific Northwest plants
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software (Dynascape DS preferred) and SketchUp
  • Use excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with colleagues, clients, and vendors
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to navigate through client's property, over possibly uneven and/or sloped terrain.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in landscape design or related field preferred (can be used to substitute for some work experience)
  • Experience designing hardscapes (including walls), grading, drainage, lighting, and softscapes.
  • Design experience with decks, trellis, fencing, and roof structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and/or prepare residential base maps and landscape design, construction estimates, proposals, and presentations as directed by design consultants
  • Work with maintenance client representatives to assist with enhancement designs and suggestions.
  • Meet with homeowners and HOA boards along with the client representatives to present enhancement proposals
  • Create design packages for seasonal displays and container plantings
  • Coordinate sub-contractor quotes and permits.
