About The Position

The University of Arkansas is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Descriptive Business Intelligence Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing data and creating visualizations to support decision-making processes. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Basic understanding of IT software maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R
  • Experience with Transit and Parking operations is a plus
  • Internship or project experience in data analysis or IT software maintenance is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights into key performance indicators.
  • Perform analysis using various techniques to identify patterns in data.
  • Make critical observations and provide data interpretation to assist in the development of reports and recommend strategies and plans.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand data needs and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Implement systems requirements and perform routine data analysis to ensure data management objectives within the department are met.
  • Assist in the implementation of new software solutions and upgrades.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by following best practices and university policies.
  • Provide training and support to staff on the use of data analysis tools and software systems.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data analysis
  • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
