About The Position

DERMATOLOGY TECHNICIAN I JOB SUMMARY The Dermatology Technician I functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing clinical and technical support to assist providers in providing for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual completes basic procedures as requested by the provider and assists providers with procedures. The Dermatology Technician I performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality. DERMATOLOGY TECHNICIAN II JOB SUMMARY The Dermatology Technician II functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing clinical and technical support to assist providers in providing for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual completes basic procedures and light treatments as requested by the provider and assists providers with procedures. The Dermatology Technician II performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
• Documented successful completion of the following courses (or their recognized course equivalent): (1) Medical Terminology from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class, (2) Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class, and (3) Pharmacology from an accredited institution.
• Two years of Medical Assistant-related work experience and completion of the required educational courses listed above within the first 12 months from hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
• One year experience as a Dermatology Technician.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Successful completion of the Marshfield Clinic Health System’s dermatology advancement test.

Nice To Haves
