The specialist provides coverage and support to dermatology phone rooms, makes recommendations for process improvements, and collects and compiles various reports. They are also involved in training new staff, assisting with competency evaluations, continually observing skill levels to ensure adequate cross-training, and implementing shared work assignments. The role requires assisting in documenting and tracking appointment rotation grids, providing monthly and on-demand reports for dermatologists, and observing patient volumes at desks to ensure minimal wait times and direct PSS float coverage. The specialist is expected to attend meetings, conferences, and training sessions to stay current with protocols and processes.
