Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical environment is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, especially in dermatology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard office software is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and thorough health histories.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures by ensuring necessary instruments and equipment are prepared.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and manage the processing of specimens for analysis.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in scheduling appointments and managing office communications to streamline workflows.
- Educate patients about their treatment plans, medication use, and effective skincare practices.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and adequately stocked with supplies.
- May participate in supporting the clinic’s social media presence, including gathering content, sharing clinic-approved updates, and assisting with community engagement efforts as directed.
