About The Position

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE NEED TO BE AN LPN OR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT Summary/Objective: Perform a variety of clinical and/or administrative task to help a dermatologist run their office

Requirements

LPN Specialist requirements are: Required Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements are: Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment

Nice To Haves

Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 1 year experience in Dermatology.
Additional Qualification: 1 Year experience Dermatology.

Responsibilities

Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
Assists Physician or PA with medical office procedures.
Administers medications, including injections, documents meds given or prescribed by ordering provider.
Administers dermatology and pathology biopsy procedures.
Assumes responsibility of maintaining current certification in CPR.
Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policy & procedures and newsletters.
Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting in patient’s record.
Attends support staff and department meetings to keep informed of employee issues and concerns as well as organizational updates.
Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.
Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated.
