About The Position

We are seeking a Derivatives Accountant to support the derivatives accounting and financial reporting process for a portfolio of derivative instruments (e.g., futures, rates, FX, equity, credit, and total return swaps). The role supports monthly US GAAP and statutory accounting, including close execution, reconciliations, disclosures support, and audit-ready documentation. Prior derivatives and hedge accounting experience is preferred but not required—you will receive structured training and ongoing support to build the necessary technical foundation.What you'll be doing Support the end-to-end monthly close for derivatives under US GAAP and statutory accounting, ensuring activity is captured completely and accurately Prepare and/or support journal entries, accruals, and accounting schedules tied to derivative activity, lifecycle events, and settlements Perform account reconciliations and substantiation for key derivatives-related balance sheet and P&L accounts; investigate variances and resolve reconciling items Review derivative activity and lifecycle events and validate the accounting impact against operational/source data Support completeness and accuracy checks across derivative populations and related cashflows to ensure reliable reporting Support derivatives-related GAAP and statutory reporting schedules and disclosure inputs under guidance of senior team members Support operational components of the hedge accounting program under ASC 815 (e.g., maintaining support files, tracking hedge populations, compiling inputs and outputs for effectiveness support, and maintaining audit trails Execute assigned controls and maintain clear documentation/evidence in alignment with the team’s control framework, including SOX-related expectations Support internal and external audit requests by preparing support packages, process narratives, and responding to requests in a timely, well-organized manner Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, proposing practical fixes, and helping standardize templates and procedures Support process redesign and implementation activities (e.g., performing parallel runs/testing support, validating outputs, and ensuring controls remain effective through change)

Requirements

  • 3-7 Years experience in accounting/finance roles supporting close, reconciliations, substantiation, and reporting support
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated curiosity and learning agility, with an interest in building expertise in derivatives accounting
  • Comfort managing and working with large datasets; automation tooling skills a plus but not required
  • Analytical skills and close attention to detail is necessary
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a changing work environment

Responsibilities
